About Cassie
Cassie Nykanen, 17 years old, is the daughter of Rex Nykanen and Brenda and Randy Davis. Cassie had been experiencing chest pains earlier this year, and when she began competing in track (Cassie’s favorite sport) the pains worsened. Cassie went through several different types of tests to try and diagnose the problem. On May 28 a chest x-ray showed a soft-ball sized tumor behind her sternum and on May 30 a biopsy of the tumor resulted in the news of cancer, Hodgkins Lymphoma. Cassie has underwent her first round of chemo treatments, and through all of the chemo side affects, Cassie’s positive attitude and faith continue to be an inspiration to many!
